Meet the Team: Tomas Rookes – Regional Engineering Manager (Central and Southern)

Tomas joined the team in September 2024 as a Test and Inspections Engineer and has since progressed to Regional Engineering Manager for the Central and Southern regions, a great reflection of his consistency, work ethic, and commitment to development.

From the British Army to Inspection and Testing

Tomas began his career serving in the British Army within REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers).

This experience gave him a strong foundation in engineering, along with the discipline and problem-solving skills that are essential within the inspection and testing industry.

Progression at Plant and Safety

Since joining Plant and Safety, Tomas has focused on continuously developing himself and supporting those around him.

By going above and beyond expectations, maintaining a proactive approach, and helping wherever needed, he has taken on increasing responsibility within the team, leading to his promotion to Regional Engineering Manager in September 2025.

He highlights his promotion as his proudest achievement since joining the business.

One day could be spent hands on in the field, inspecting a variety of equipment. The next may involve reacting to issues and problem solving, whether that’s for a customer or helping within the team.
