Plant and Safety Achieves NICEIC Approved Contractor Status for Electrical Testing and Repair Services

Following the launch of the Plant and Safety Electrical Inspection and Testing division, we are proud to announce that the company is now accredited as an NICEIC Approved Contractor for Electrical Inspection, Testing, and Repair Services. 

The company was recently audited and assessed by the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) to achieve the ‘NICEIC Approved Contractor’ certification for its electrical testing services. The assessment process included an in depth audit on the company’s policies and procedures, the competence of our electrical team, and work recently completed at our customer sites. 

Following a successful audit and assessment process, Electrical Division Managing Director, Martyn Jupp, said the following “A great achievement by the team to gain full NIC EIC registration, to be approved to carry out Inspection and Testing of Domestic, Commercial and Industrial buildings along with any repairs required to achieve compliance. As a national provider for these services, our customers will now have even more confidence in our capability to keep them compliant as an NICEIC Approved Contractor.’

What is the NICEIC Approved Contractor Scheme? 

The NICEIC Approved Contractor scheme is for electrical contractors undertaking design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical installations to BS 7671. The scheme covers:

• Electricians working on commercial and industrial installations
• Electricians working on domestic installations
• Electrical installation condition reporting (testing, inspection, PIRs)
• Street lighting installers
• Security systems Installers
• Any other activity covered by BS 7671
